Meet Tofu
This was the luckiest find online! Peekapoo Zone Puppies is a small family owned business in Texas.
We were bereft following the loss of our fabulous Peekapoo Taffy who passed away of old age two years ago. It’s taken a while to get over but we knew we wanted another Peekapoo. They are hard to find, and definitely unavailable in Hawaii where we have our primary home.
Peekapoo Zone Puppies was so responsive and helpful, their website was so clear and straightforward, and with Susana, Rafael, and the rest of the family made it so accommodating it was a pleasure to work with them.
We originally wanted a female, but the logistics to import to Hawaii (HI is rabies free, and it takes 4 months to do the immunizations etc. and paperwork) and timing made choosing little boy Teddy better.
Susana also helped to arrange the in-cabin flight of Teddy via CitizenShipper (again I would highly recommend them as well) out of Atlanta.
Teddy arrived today in our home in CA where he will be for a few months. The Camacho family transported the puppy 4 hours to Houston where he was picked up and transported by CitizenShipper to us.
The whole thing was great; Teddy the puppy is very healthy, friendly and super happy which shows he was raised with lots of love! I Would strongly recommend them.
They strive to give the best service; they are immediately available for questions and willing to support your needs. They are flexible and really really love their dogs and you can see that in the videos! Would definitely use them again and again!
About Peekapoos
A Peekapoo is a designer crossbreed between a Pekingese and a Toy Poodle. It can be friendly, affectionate, intelligent, and hypoallergenic. They are loyal companions, low-shedding, and easy to train. This is one of the oldest designer mixed breeds, dating back to the 1950s. With a lifespan of 13 to 15 years, these puppies can grow from 6 to 20 lbs.
A Peekapoo's appearance can vary greatly. They tend to have a soft, wavy coat in colors like Silver, White, Cream, Apricot, Red, Chocolate, or Black. Most owners tend to take these dogs to be groomed regularly. Some people like to keep it long, we recommend to brush it daily to prevent knots and matts from forming.
Due to their short muzzle, they are described as a brachycephalic breed. This means they are prone to breathing difficulties and struggle to cope with extreme temperature changes. On a hot day, Peekapoos are at a higher risk of having a heat stroke if left outside.
